14/03/10 - CDNW Event 2 - Saighton
The star of the day was our resident italion stallion Cal with his fourth place in the 3/4 race. Once again Ady rode strongly and finished up there with the Elite riders.
Ady rode a cracking race and spotted to the right move to go with. He placed 14th in the E/1/2/3 race which had a field worthy of a premier calendar. In the 3/4/J Cal rode a good race and is looking at these events to give him race fitness so he can get his 2nd Cat licence. Nick rode a couple of laps but had to pull out due to him still suffering from his injuries sustained in Spain when he collided with a poodle.
Cal and Andy rode the fastest and probably there last Eddie Soens on Saturday. Well done lads for finishing with crashing. 160 riders at 30mph for 50 miles can be quite dodgy.
28/02/10 - Clayton Velo Spring Classic
Ady, Ste and Andy rode the Northwest season opener. No much too say but they had a good workout.
20/02/10 - Hit the North
Ste Leigh pulled out a good ride to finish 2nd in the Northwest MTB season opener. His first time on a cross bike proved very productive.
11/10/09 - Rake Hill Climb - GARETH DAMAGES LUNG
Well done to Gareth for raising 300 pounds for Derian House by busting his lungs with the pain of climbing the rake in Ramsbottom at the Lancs RC hill climb event.
Another cracking ride by Ian Sharp in his local race the Preston GP. He managed 4th place and proved once again that he is a belting crit rider. One to watch next year! Well done mate.
Ste Leigh and Daz Shaw made the journey over to Doncaster for what was a well organisaed event with some good racing. Ste was unlucky as he missed the final move because he was boxed in. However, he managed to escape the field and rode solo for the last lap and salvage 9th place. Daz was active throughout the race and rolled in with the bunch. This event is definately one for diary next year.
Ste Leigh and Daz shaw put in good rides at Ulverston. In the E/1/2 race Ste finished in 14th position. It was a tough race where he managed to stay in the main break for all but the last lap of the race where he suffered cramp. However, he managed to hold off the chasing bunch for 11 miles and score nine points.
In his second race Daz is realising that 3/4/J races are quite negative with a lot of wheel suckers who want to win the sprint at the end of the race. Very frustrating but he put in a strong ride.
